Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Shop Controller to join our team at Hickman Chrysler in St. John's. The Shop Controller is responsible for the coordination and scheduling of repairs in the shop. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prioritize and dispatch work for the shop.

· Maintain shop capacity, efficiency and productivity.

· Monitor the availability of technicians and inform the Service Advisors and Managers on absences or delays.

· Assign work to technicians in a fair and equitable manner according to individual skill level.

· Use internal repair orders and pre-delivery inspections/checks to help reach production goals and complete internal work in a timely manner.

· Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance workshop productivity and efficiency to Service Management.

· Manage promise times and proactively follow up on delayed repairs

· Become familiar with warranty

Qualifications

· Knowledge of shop environment, procedures and scheduling.

· Knowledge of the mechanical function as it applies to the safe maintenance and repair activities within the shop.

· Computer knowledge.

· Strong organizational skills.

· Above average time management and organizational skills.

· Ability to effectively plan, implement and monitor a wide range of concurrent repair and maintenance schedules to ensure optimum shop performance.

· Ability to project a professional company image.

· Experience in the mechanical trades would be considered an asset.
