Comptroller, Rugged Rock Harley-Davidson

Hickman Automotive Group is looking for a Comptroller to join our team in our Harley-Davidson division. The successful candidate will be responsible to maintain, manage and analyze financial statements, budgets, tax compliance issues, payroll, cash flow and general ledger accounts for two dealerships: Privateers Harley-Davidson in Halifax N.S and Rugged Rock Harley-Davidson in Mount Pearl NL.


Responsibilities:

· Prepare and analyze internal financial statements, reports and budgets

· Prepare financial forecast and projections

· Prepare and submit government files including HST, WCB, HAPSET, Divert, MMSB, T4 and T4 Summary

· Ensure cash flow is appropriate for operations

· Support store managers with financial reviews

· Support external accountants in preparation of tax returns and annual financial statements.

· Accounts Payable functions such as EFT payment runs, wire transfers, reconciliations, investigations, foreign exchange purchases, petty cash, etc.

· Approve and post all General Ledger transactions

· Perform month end closing procedures such as reconciliations for taxes, bank, payables, payroll and general ledger

· Prepare, submit and post payroll

· Oversee annual physical inventory count

· Maintain confidentiality of all information received


Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting or related discipline

· Accounting designation or an equivalent combination of related experience and education

· Experience in areas such as: financial reporting and analysis, month end / year end closing procedures, spreadsheet and word applications

· Experience in the retail recreational vehicle industry

· Ability to monitor, allocate and control finances for 2 separate operations

· Strong managerial, interpersonal communication and customer service skills with the ability to work with all levels of an organization.

· Work quickly and accurately

· Able to contain confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of discretion
