About the Group
Hickman Automotive Group is a family owned and operated business, established in 1905 by Albert E. Hickman who was born in Grand Bank Newfoundland. The original Company, A. E. Hickman Company, was in the fish business as a supplier, a buyer, and a seller. The Company would buy salt fish from the Fisherman around the Island and transport it in their own vessels to South America, the Caribbean, and the Mediterranean. In turn, they would bring back coal, salt and other commodities to Newfoundland. Albert E. Hickman had a fascination with the Automobile and started selling cars in 1905 - cars that he would import from New York. In 1923, the Company became the Ford distributor for Newfoundland and continued until 1952 when it changed to the General Motors products. Today, our Automotive Group has expanded to other vehicle franchises and employs approximately 385 people in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Hickman Automotive Group continues to be a family owned and operated business. Now in its fourth generation of ownership, we will always evolve and strive to meet the needs of customers.

Hickman Automotive Group is comprised of several vehicle franchises in Newfoundland and Labrador, including Hickman Chevrolet Cadillac, Hickman Chevrolet Buick GMC (four locations), Hickman Chrysler Dodge Jeep, the Hickman Used Network, Hickman Truck Centre, and Bodyworks Limited.
Together, we sell more vehicles than any other dealership in Newfoundland & Labrador, including Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, and GMC products at our five St. John's locations and our other retailers in Carbonear, Clarenville, Burin, and Gander.
Hickman Chrysler Dodge Jeep sells, leases and services Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Dodge RAM vehicles with 14 service bays and a top-stocked parts department. Our Truck Center is the authorized dealer for Volvo, Mack Heavy Duty and Isuzu Medium Duty truck lines, and features a fully-stocked parts department and 8-bay service facility located in St. John's.

The Used Network
The Hickman Used Network has ten locations across Newfoundland, including St. John's (Kenmount Road, Peet Street, Topsail Road and Torbay Road) Gander (two on Airport Boulevard), Clarenville (two on Memorial Drive), Carbonear (Columbus Drive), and Burin (Eagle Road). We regularly stock over 300 quality used cars and used trucks of all makes and models. We're committed to being the best supplier of pre-owned vehicles in NL in order to help you get you the car you want. And if we don't have the pre-owned vehicle you're looking for, we will make every effort to locate it through our extensive sales network.
Bodyworks
Bodyworks is a state-of-the-art, stand-alone automotive repair facility with painting and prepping areas to repair all makes and model vehicles. It features 14 collision bays, 10 downdraft prep station areas, 3 downdraft paint booths with baking capabilities, and 2 estimating bays equipped with Mitchell Ultra-Mate and Image-Mate, ensuring accurate industry standards for collision estimating.
All estimates and ramp services are free of charge, and warranty on collision repairs are lifetime.
Bodyworks has the capability to paint non-automotive items on or off premises and offers the latest in water-born paint technology, providing an environmentally friendly option for conscientious consumers. In addition to our St. John's location, each of our GM stores in Carbonear, Burin and Gander also operate a Bodyworks full-service outlet specializing in paint & collision repair.
